Umeed entered into a partnership with Rural Shores, one of India’s leading rural BPO ITeS players in August 2011. Addressing national and regional businesses, it provides data transcription, and business process management services in the areas such as payroll and employee entitlements accounting, receivables and payables management, MIS and digitization of business leads and archival records. In January 2011, Umeed opened a BPO in Sangur to ensure that educated youth are not forced to leave Sangrur district in search of jobs in cities. The BPO currently employs 18 people.
A 50-seater BPO centre was opened in Dhuri in December 2012, which is set to scale up operations.
Umeed is also exploring the possibility of providing basic computer literacy, lingual skills and personality development workshops to young job aspirants.
